Volunteers
In order to continue to work effectively for animal welfare in our area the branch needs volunteers to help run it and to help raise funds. Every year we spend more money than we raise and without our fast reducing reserves the branch would quickly run out of cash. If you can help please call Daphne Harris on 01622 891222 Please leave a message if there is no answer and we will call you back.
Campaign Officer To liaise with the RSPCA HQ on current and future campaigns and to co-ordinate/communicate the necessary requirements to the Branch membership and general public via the local media. We desperately need to fill this position which should provide an enjoyable challenge to a campaigning type with a few hours each week to spare.
Volunteer Dog Walkers
Volunteers are urgently required to walk the various dogs homed in the branch kennels. This can be a very rewarding experience for both the dog and walker.
Home Visitors
Home Visiting Volunteers are responsible to the Home Check Co-ordinator. They visit the prospective animal adopters in their own homes to ensure suitability. Qualities needed are a calm confident manner, to be able to get along with people and to have some knowledge of caring for animals. We are always looking for volunteers to join our team, please contact Norma on 01622 765919
Fosterers
Usually required for puppies or kittens, the branch urgently needs dedicated animal carers who would be prepared to foster very young animals prior to adoption. This will not involve any personal expense but will most probably involve sleepless nights.
Special Events Volunteers Assistance is required to help with our various events including our open day, Xmas bazaar, dog shows, sponsored walks, and coffee mornings, help is especially appreciated from anyone who can help with some of the heavier jobs, please contact Carol on 01892 730483.
Static Collecting Boxes Keep accurate records of the location of boxes in your area. Increase the number of boxes sited in the area. Empty RSPCA collection boxes on a regular basis, issue receipts, and bank the money received.
Street Collection Organiser Involves obtaining the necessary permits. Organising volunteers helping with the collection and counting and banking the money afterwards.
Charity Shop Volunteers Based at our charity shop in Wheeler Street, Maidstone, Kent. Full or part-time to suit. Please contact 01622 751062 between 10:30am-3:30pm Monday-Saturday.
